What you can import

In short: the app reads a CSV file that you export from your platform and pick yourself. It never connects to your platform, never holds a login for it, and never fetches anything on its own — so what it knows is exactly what is in the file you handed it, as of the moment you handed it over.

Platforms the app can read a file from

Five, plus manual entry. The name in brackets is what the app calls it internally, which is what you will see if something goes wrong with an import.

  • Trading 212 (t212)
  • Hargreaves Lansdown (hl)
  • Freetrade (freetrade)
  • interactive investor (ii)
  • Moneyhub (moneyhub)
  • Anything else — type it in. An account can be created by hand instead of from a file, and it behaves the same afterwards.

Accounts can be held as an ISA, a SIPP, a general investment account, a Lifetime ISA or as cash.

How a row is matched to an instrument — and why it matters

Every row has to be tied to a specific instrument before any figure can be attached to it. The app looks for an ISIN first, because an ISIN identifies one instrument and nothing else. What happens when a row has no ISIN depends on the platform, and it is not the same for all five:

  • Trading 212, Freetrade and interactive investor — the app falls back to the ticker or symbol in the export.
  • Hargreaves Lansdown — the fallback is the free-text description in the export, which is a weaker identifier than a ticker.
  • Moneyhub — there is no fallback. A row with no ISIN is skipped rather than guessed at.

This is why an import can come in complete and still leave a holding without a figure next to it: the row is there, but nothing could be attached to it without guessing. The app says which of those happened rather than showing a blank.

No live sync — and that is the design, not a gap

There is no connection to your platform or your bank, and no background refresh. The app cannot place a trade, cannot read a balance, and cannot see anything you have not exported and handed over. If your holdings change, the figures change when you import a newer file — not before.

The trade-off is deliberate: a file you exported yourself is a file you can read before you share it, and there is no standing permission for anyone to misuse later.

This list is written from what the app actually accepts, not from a roadmap. If a platform is not on it, the app cannot read its export yet — and this page is updated on the day that changes, with the date above.
